Crucial Child Support Guidelines Update

The new Child Support Guidelines are effective as of October 4, 2021. The GNBA program, Crucial Child Support Guidelines Update, will provide an analysis of what has changed, why it changed and a deep dive into the issues and questions of implementation. The program features attorneys who were on the task force as well as the Honorable Elizabeth Teixeira. They will apprise you of the major changes, potential pitfalls and practice tips. 

Attend and Learn:

• What is the interaction between child support and alimony
• What is the Interaction between payment for college expenses and the guidelines (deviations)
• If alimony terminates by duration or other stated reason, does recipient just get it back as child support so there is no relief for the alimony payor?           
• Is the use of income over $400,000, presumptive alimony? What did the framers intend here?
